The works of Thracian Roots are the brainchild of songwriter and multimedia artist, Kiril, an American (Bulgarian-born) musician. He came from a long line of musicians, with his father being a master violinist, and grandfather being an opera singer back in Bulgaria.
He began playing piano as a child, and later picked up guitars as a teen. He started writing songs, producing multi-instrument music recordings, and creating multimedia audiovisual works in the late 1990’s.
Kiril’s music is Christian music at its core. His songwriting includes potent lyrics about the timeless war between good and evil. The musical style is a fusion of ancient Byzantine/Slavic and Ottoman/Turkic folk flavors with a hard, modern, electronic/rock/metal/rap edge.
These musical works include dynamic & heartfelt vocals, lush symphonic & orchestral components, as well as choral layers that create powerful, emotional and cinematic crescendos.
